Fox television series GLEE has received three 2009 Teen Choice Awards nominations. The series, which has only aired a special preview of its pilot episode, has been nominated in the following categories:

- TV: Breakout Show
- TV: Breakout Star Female (Lea Michele)
- TV: Breakout Star Male (Cory Monteith)

The 11th annual Teen Choice Awards will be hosted by the Jonas Brothers. Voting for the 2009 Teen Choice Awards is open now at the official Teens Choice website, where nominees for other categories like movie, music and pop culture can be found. Winners will receive their Surfboards during an awards ceremony on August 10, aired by FOX at 8/7c.

For more information visit www.teenchoiceawards.com.

Fox television series GLEE has another reason to celebrate; famed R&B singer Eve will appear on the new show, according to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello. Eve will play a "no-nonsense girls' choir director from a rival school." The Grammy Award-winning singer will appear in a two-episode arc.

Ausiello had earlier reported that Superstar Whitney Houston had been in early negotiations to play the role, but Houston ultimately turned the offer down.

GLEE will have its series premiere Wednesday, September 16 at 9pm EST. The Ryan Murphy series had a special sneak preview on May 19.

Following its sneak preview, Fox television series GLEE has broken into the Billboard Hot 100 chart with its recording of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'". The track is the chart's Hot Shot Debut at No. 4. The feat is even more impressive as nine tracks charted from American Idol winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert, but those were all outsold by the GLEE recording.

GLEE'S remake surpasses the original 1981 Journey recording of the song, which peaked at No. 9.

In a broadcast first, GLEE, the new one-hour musical comedy series from Ryan Murphy ("Nip/Tuck"), had a special preview following AMERICAN IDOL on Tuesday night, May 19th on FOX. The show will premiere in the fall in a regular time slot as of yet unannounced, but you can catch a sneak peek of the upcoming episodes right here on STAGE TUBE!

GLEE is an uplifting series with biting humor that features a soundtrack of hit music from past to present. The show follows an optimistic high school teacher, WILL SCHUESTER (Matthew Morrison), as he tries to refuel his own passion while reinventing the high school's glee club and challenging a group of outcasts to realize their star potential. It's not an easy task when The Pitch-imperfect club includes MERCEDES (Amber Riley), a forceful diva-in-training; ARTY (Kevin McHale), a geeky guitarist; KURT (Chris Colfer), a dramatic soprano; TINA (Jenna Ushkowitz), a punk rocker; and self-proclaimed "star" RACHEL (Lea Michele), a perfectionist firecracker.

McKinley's cruel high school caste system prevents the glee club from flourishing, so Will recruits FINN (Cory Monteith), the quarterback with movie star looks, to join the group even though he wants to protect his reputation with his holier-than-thou girlfriend, QUINN (Dianna Agron), and his arrogant teammate, PUCK (Mark Salling). With harsh criticism from everyone, including Will's tough-as-nails wife TERRI (Jessalyn Gilsig) and McKinley's egotistical cheerleading coach SUE SYLVESTER (Jane Lynch), he is determined to prove them all wrong and lead the glee club to the greatest competition of them all: Nationals.

GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Dante di Loreto serve as executive producers, while Ian Brennan and John Peter Kousakis serve as co-executive producers. Murphy directed the pilot.
