Florie Seery has been appointed by artistic director Lynne Meadow and executive producer Barry Grove as the new general manager of the Manhattan Theatre Club.  Seery, who has been working steadily in New York theatre for the past 20 years, replaces Harold Wolpert, who was MTC's General Manager since 2000, and recently joined Roundabout Theatre Company as Managing Director.

"I have been impressed with Florie's work in the theatrical community for years," enthused Grove.  "I am thrilled that she is joining Manhattan Theatre Club and look forward to having her on our team."

Seery, who holds a B.A. from Smith College, was most recently
an Associate Producer of Disney Theatrical Productions, where she was involved in the general managing of several musicals in development, among them The Little Mermaid, Tarzan and On the Record. As the person in charge of Disney's licensing initiative, she has worked with Music Theatre International to license productions of Beauty and the Beast and AIDA and to produce musical theatre scripts for children to perform such as Cinderella Kids, The Jungle Book Kids and Aladdin Jr.

Seery began her theatrical career in 1985 as an assistant to producer Jim Walsh on the long-running Broadway hit, I'm Not Rappaport.  As a company manager, she oversaw such shows as The Heidi Chronicles, Once on this Island and Conversations with My Father

From 1993-1996, she served as company manager at Lincoln Center Theater, where her projects included The Sisters Rosensweig, A Delicate Balance and The Heiress.  She was an Associate General Manager at Stuart Thompson Productions from 1996-2000, where she worked on Skylight, A Doll's House, Diary of Anne Frank, Not About Nightingales, Tale of the Allergist's Wife and tours of Art and Master Class.

Seery will begin her duties as MTC's general manager on Monday, June 20th.
