As BWW reported last month, Neil Patrick Harris will lead Netflix's series adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS from Paramount TV. The Tony Award winner takes on the role of the villainous Count Olaf, portrayed by Jim Carrey in the 2004 film.

Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, the series will follow the story of "the orphaned children Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes) and Sunny Baudelair at the hands of the villainous Count Olaf, as they face trials and tribulations, misfortunes and an evil uncle in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents' deaths."

Filming on the new Netflix series is now underway in Vancouver. Below, check out a barely recognizable NPH on the set:

Harris recently hosted the NBC variety series BEST TIME EVER. He has received four Emmy nominations for his role in CBS's long-running comedy series HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.

The talented star is the recipient of four Emmy Awards for hosting the Tony Awards. He received a fifth Emmy for his memorable guest-starring role on GLEE. NPH also picked up a Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway revival of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. His other theater credits include ASSASSINS.
