Fadeyev Ballet promotes and supports the art of dance through education, performance and outreach on Long Island and to an international audience based on the syllabus of the Vaganova Method of Classical Ballet. The study of dance provides the tools to develop and nurture self-confidence, strong bodies and minds, an understanding of music and a love of the arts. Fadeyev Ballet will announce Summer Intensive 2016 featuring Vaganova Academy Master Teachers from St. Petersburg, Russia to further its mission bringing the great Russian tradition of dance to Long Island.

In 1987, Mr. Fadeyev was selected as one of only seven students, and the only professional dancer, from the Soviet Union to participate in the Peace Child exchange program here in the United States and in the Soviet Union. During Perestroika, Peace Child represented one of the initial programs that brought these two countries together through the arts; and was one of the first times that children from Russia were permitted to travel to the U.S. This experience gave Slava his first inspiration of how transformative dance can be.

Mr. Fadeyev was born in to a ballet family. His mother was a master teacher at St. Petersburg University of the Humanities and Social Sciences, principal dancer at Mikhailovsky Theater, and an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation so he literally grew up in the ballet world. Trained exclusively at the world-renowned Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in St. Petersburg Russia, Slava began an extensive career that has now culminated as a gifted teacher, coach, director and expert on the Vaganova Method of Classical Ballet. He has over 30 years experience as a dance professional. Career highlights include dancing professionally with Kirov Ballet of the Mariinsky Theater, Hartford Ballet and the Metropolitan Opera Ballet. Mr. Fadeyev's teaching and coaching highlights include Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, Sawnee School of Ballet, Eglevsky Ballet, Dany Holdstein Two Worlds and American Theater Dance Workshop. Mr. Fadeyev is leveraging his vast international network to develop Fadeyev Ballet as Long Island's premier dance organization.
