FINDING NEVERLAND's Kelsey Grammer Joins Amazon Drama Pilot THE LAST TYCOON

Deadline reports that Kelsey Grammer will star opposite Matt Bomer in the Amazon Studios drama pilot THE LAST TYCOON, based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's final unfinished novel. AMERICAN HORROR STORY's Matt Bomer will also star.

Written and directed by Billy Ray, the project was inspired by Irving Thalberg film and follows "Monroe Stahr (Bomer), Hollywood's first wunderkind studio executive in the 1930s as he climbs to the height of power pitting him against his mentor and current head of the studio, the brawny, imposing, charming and vain Pat Brady (Grammer), a character based on Louis B. Mayer. Having come from the streets, Brady has no intention of returning to his misfortune, and is determined to make sure his studio is successful, no matter what personal morals he compromises."

Production on the pilot is set to begin in Los Angeles on February 25th.

Grammer is currently filming the upcoming indie film The Nest in Australia. As previously reported, he will return to Broadway's FINIDNG NEVERLAND on January 15th. The actor has also starred on TV in PARTNERS and BOSS. His Broadway credits include LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.
