Once upon a time, in a land where fairy tales are considered current events, a shy young knight has just one year to find the one thing women desire most, or face dire circumstances for a dangerous crime.

Born in Ithaca and coming of age in Manhattan, FAR FROM CANTERBURY has come a long way. What started as composer/lyricist Danny K. Bernstein's honors thesis at Cornell University's Department of Music, went on to be workshopped at The Hangar Theatre (Summer Lab Program), and then premiered in April 2014 at Cornell's Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts where it had a soldout run.

Shortly after this success, FAR FROM CANTERBURY was selected as one of three musicals forThe 2014 New Voices Project. This is a competition for emerging musical theatre writers under the age of 26, sponsored in part by Walt Disney Imagineering.

FAR FROM CANTERBURY is directed by Juliana Kleist-Mendez and assistant directed by Jesse Turk with choreography by Ilana Gilovich. The production stage manager is Claire Stack and assistant stage manager is Sarah Byrne. The production features scenic design by Ravi Rakkulchon, costume design by Ellen Pyne and lighting design by Taylor Black, musical direction by Adam McDonald.
