Elena Shaddow Cast in Piazza Tour; Also London Show Boat

According to her website, Elena Shaddow has been cast in the upcoming national tour of The Light in the Piazza.

Although no casting has been officially announced, Shaddow's website states that she will be playing Clara Johnson, the romantic young woman with a secret vacationing in Florence with her mother, in the Tony Award-winning musical with a score by Adam Guettel and a book by Craig Lucas. The national tour of The Light in the Piazza will kick off in August and will plays theatres around the country--including L.A.'s Ahmanson Theatre, The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and The Palace in Cleveland--for 50 weeks.

In addition, Shaddow will play Magolia Hawks in the London revival of Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II's Show Boat, running from June 10th through 25th at the Royal Albert Hall. Francesca Zambello will direct the limited run production.

Shaddow was recently an understudy for the role of Laura in The Woman in White and appeared at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Carnival. She appeared on Broadway in Fiddler on the Roof, Nine, Sweet Smell of Success and Les Miserables. She appeared off-Broadway in The Water Coolers, and regional credits include The Importance of Being Earnest, Senor Discretion Himself and My Fair Lady.
