Elaine Paige to Perform in UK Concert Tour, Oct.-Nov.

British theatre star Elaine Paige has scheduled a UK tour spanning October and November of 2006.

It will commence in Cheltenham Centaur Racecourse on October 29th and wrap up at the Harrogate International Centre on November 23rd.

Paige, who earned a Drama Desk nomination for her New York theatre debut as Mrs. Lovett in the New York City Opera's production of Sweeney Todd, was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1995. She won an Olivier Award for originating the title role in Evita, and was also nominated for her performances in Chess, Anything Goes, Piaf and Sunset Boulevard. She also created the role of Grizabella in Cats, and has also appeared in the West End in Billy, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, The King and I and others. She hosts "Elaine Paige On Sunday," which airs on BBC Radio 2.
