Olivier winner Elaine Paige has lined up her next project, and it's Shakespeare! The stage star published an extensive blog update today, in which she revealed she will be starring in a TV adaptation of the Bard's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM for the BBC.

"... as I write this to you all I am learning my lines for a very exciting project for BBC1 TV -- Russell T Davis' adaptation of William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night Dream,'" she wrote. "But you'll have to wait for my next 'Postcard From Paige' to hear all about that otherwise I'll never learn my lines, which will be 'such pity my lord.'"

Paige also announced that her 50th anniversary concert, I'M STILL HERE, will be out on DVD and CD soon. The performance was shown across cinemas in the UK, Ireland, Europe, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand this spring after being filmed at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall on October 22nd, 2014.

Writing about her recent visit to New York City, Paige said she caught Broadway's FINDING NEVERLAND and ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. Of the latter, she raved that it "was one of my favourite performances of the year along with our very own Imelda Staunton in GYPSY! What a tour de force -- I was exhausted at the end of the performance so goodness knows how she feels. It was extraordinary!"

Among Paige's New York stage credits are SUNSET BOULEVARD, SWEENEY TODD and FOLLIES. She has appeared in the West End in ANYTHING GOES, CATS, CHESS, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, EVITA, THE KING AND I, SUNSET BOULEVARD and more.
