Author R.L. Davey's new book spills the beans on the mistreatment of children within the school system. Educating Children to Bully: System Entrenched Bullying gives true life examples of cover ups committed by the authorities of some schools faced with bullying and abuses occurring within their very halls and their failure to effectively deal with these incidents. Moreover, Davey's account demonstrates how some principals and regional staff are even willing to ignore the wellbeing of the child abuse victims rather than face up to their responsibilities to the public and the youth in their care.

Educating Children to Bully has its origins when Davey attempted to report a case of sexual abuse to external authorities while the school was attempting to cover it up. Far from being an isolated case, the author has discovered that these incidents are actually quite prevalent within some schools and involve the abuse of children, physically and sexually, usually by older students or even teachers. Davey's account explains how some teachers are willing to stand up and protect the children, only to be punitively transferred or discredited by an educational establishment more concerned with saving face and reputation than safeguarding the children.

Through Davey's work, readers will realize that the systemic cover up of child abuse incidents is not limited to the Catholic Church, and that other trusted organizations are also guilty of betraying the trust the public has placed upon them. Educating Children to Bully consists of twelve chapters with each chapter describing a complete incident that occurred in un-named state schools.

Davey's fight for justice for her colleagues and children has come at a high price, namely the loss of her teaching job and targeting by some who still want to silence her. Despite the pressure she faces, she continues to spread the word, so that readers will learn to be vigilant even when their children are at school, for abuse might be occurring without the Department of Education's notice. "I want them to trust their instinct if there is any doubt that all is not as it seems. Parents should be prepared to step up to support the teachers who are trying to protect their children," Davey shares.
