It's Chanukah! It's Thanksgiving! At the same time! Because this holiday convergence won't happen again for more than 70,000 years, the wild, Technicolor musical adventure known as The Dirty Sock Funtime Band has decided to celebrate both the release of their new album,The Dirty Socks Come Clean, and the spirit of Thanksgivukkah with a high-energy family showat 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10 at DROM, 85 Ave. A (between 5th and 6th Streets), NYC.

The Dirty Socks Come Clean is the first new album from The Dirty Sock Funtime Band in three years, and "New" will be the name of the game at this show, with lots of never-before-played songs from The Dirty Socks Come Clean, new dances led by dancer supreme Annie Elmer, and new comic bits from The Dirty Sock Funtime Band's beloved, chartreuse-wigged "Mr. Clown" (Adam Jacobs).

The band even has a rousing, new Thanksgivukkah song, "Hannukah, O Hannukah (Introducing the Menurkey!).", which is the Official Menurkey Song! A Menurkey is a menorah shaped like a turkey. Recent coverage on NPR, The Wall Street Journal, and many other national media outlets has showcased the Menurkey, a creation of nine-year-old Manhattan resident Asher Weintraub.

Those attending the November 10th show are encouraged to contribute warm socks and other new or gently used winter clothing to a once-in-a-lifetime Dirty Sock Funtime Band Menurkey Holiday Clothing Drive, which will benefit The Bowery Mission. Everyone who donates an item of clothing will be entered in a raffle to win an actual Menurkey.

The Dirty Sock Funtime Band burst onto the national children's music scene when hits "Dino-Soaring," "Music Everywhere," and "No Good Reason Party" aired as music videos on Nick Jr.'s Jack's Big Music Show, demonstrating a fun, musically intelligent, and rocking side of the kids' music scene that few had seen before. This year's release, The Dirty Socks Come Clean, is an 18-track musical bonanza on which each of the songs is a full theatrical journey, taking the meaning of family-friendly music to a whole new level.

Known as the highest energy kids' rock band ever to break out of NYC, The Dirty Sock Funtime Band lays down some serious talk when they say, "Come join the band." Everything about their shows is interactive, with band members popping up in the audience to share the mic with kids, vocalist Mike Messer leading the Cheese World Pledge, and Mr. Clown and Annie Elmer showing everyone how to do the "Donut Brain Alien" dance and the "Yum Yum Yum" dance (to a song that gives a whole new perspective to dustbins, "Garbage Bugs"). Other highlights include "Lenny the Cat" (performed to a series of hysterically funny cat videos) and what is perhaps the zaniest ballet class ever, led by Mr. Clown with Annie correcting his moves, set to a new song, "Danceology." Of course, all Dirty Sock Funtime Band performances feature plenty of classic crowd-pleasers, such as "Dino-Soaring" and "Music Everywhere." The show's "eleven o'clock number," "No Good Reason Party," brings kids to a peaceful state of bliss that's the calm before the storm of a family sized ROAR wrapping up the proceedings.

Enthuses lead singer Mike Messer, "We've based our show on the idea of taking many of the elements you would find in a big arena rock show -- a flashy lead guitarist, a front-man seriously committed to leaping gyrations, a drummer who continuously puts on a one-man show -- all performing the entire gamut from raucous rock songs to quiet acoustic ballads, enhanced, of course, with what we're famous for: really clever lyrics and plenty of audience participation. Energy-wise, the level is high, but everything is presented in a child-appropriate context."
