Eugene O'Neill's Desire Under The Elms opens on Friday and runs through October 26th at Raleigh Little Theatre. The play is a combination of several Greek myths set on a family farm in New England, and premiered on Broadway in 1924. It is RLT's second production of the play and the first in the Triangle since the 2009 Broadway revival, which starred Brian Dennehey.

Today, October 19th, there will be a post-show forum with special guest, Dan Ellison, Attorney at Law and Adjunct Professor at Duke University, who will talk about the historical controversy surrounding the play. Director David Henderson and cast members will join the conversation to talk about their own perspectives on the value of producing this play. This event is free to anyone who has a ticket to any performance of Desire Under The Elms.

Just in time for Halloween, RLT presents its biennial Costume Sale on Saturday, October 18 from 10am-2pm. On that day, ten arts organizations throughout the Hillsborough Street corridor will present "Art It Up," a collaborative event that includes visual and performing arts all day long. More information is available at http://hillsboroughstreet.org/do/artitup.

Opening night of Desire Under The Elms is sponsored by Crescent Cameron Village. Tickets for all performances can be purchased by calling the box office (919)-821-3111, Monday through Friday, noon-5 PM, or by visiting the theatre's website at www.raleighlittletheatre.org. Desire Under The Elms runs from October 10-26, 2014. Evening shows (Thu-Sat) are at 8:00 PM; Sunday matinees are at 3 PM.

Raleigh Little Theatre is located at 301 Pogue St., Raleigh, N.C. 27607, adjacent to the Raleigh Rose Garden.
