Cory Monteith's mother Ann McGregor has broken her silence following her son's death from an overdose on July 13. She Tweeted on August 1: "I would like to thank all of Cory's supporters at this extremely emotional time. Your support has been overwhelming ... thank you!"

McGregor also specified that this is her first official comment on her son's passing, contrary to previous reports. "The person releasing articles relating to my feelings and thoughts on how to take care of Cory's ashes has never been in contact with me. I have never met or spoken to this person. He does not represent me or my wishes," she wrote.

It was also recently announced that the death of Glee star Cory will be addressed in the third episode of the season on FOX, with his character, 'Finn Hudson,' being written off. Following the broadcast of the episode, the dramedy series will reportedly take a three week hiatus for the World Series championship. The break will give the show's writers time to "reset" the series.

Reilly also announced that proceeds from the third episode will be donated to a new fund set up in honor of the actor who passed away last month as a result of an accidental drug overdose.

Production on the fifth season of Glee is set to kick off on Monday, August 5th.
