According to the New York Post, Cirque du Soleil is looking for a permanent home in New York City and could be the Lyric Theatre's next resident company, after Broadway's ON THE TOWN closes.

Cirque is reportedly working on "traditional Broadway musicals that will incorporate circus elements," which means we could be seeing another PIPPIN-like musical on the Great White Way soon.

Founded in 1984 by Guy Laliberte and Gilles Ste-Croix, Cirque du Soleil crafts each of its shows around a theme or storyline that showcases the acrobatic talents of its troupe.

The company has shows in hundreds of cities on every continent except Antarctica, with Las Vegas as its main hub in the United States.

Among Cirque's many productions are QUIDAM, O, LA NOUBA, ZUMANITY, KA, LOVE, KOOZA, WINTUK, TOTEM, ZARKANA, IRIS, AMALUNA, MICHAEL JACKSON: ONE, KURIOS: CABINET OF CURIOSITIES and more.
