The Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q will welcome back Christian Anderson/> to the roles of 'Nicky/Trekkie Monster/>' in the long-running musical beginning Monday, January 29, 2007.
 
Anderson returns to the dual roles in Avenue Q, having played Nicky/Trekkie Monster/> on Broadway from July 2005 through May 2006.  He replaces Robert McClure/>, who will join the national tour of the musical later this year.
 
Anderson was recently featured as Dick, the shy, music-obsessed record store employee in High Fidelity.  Anderson previously appeared on Broadway as Mark in Rent.  On tour, he played Roger in Rent and Jerry in The Full Monty.  Anderson recently recorded the original cast album of High Fidelity for Sh-K-Boom Records.
 
The hit musical about trying to make it in New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account, Avenue Q is now in its fourth year at the Golden Theatre, where it continues to play to sold-out houses 8 times a week.
 
The show will play its 1,500th performance on March 4, 2007.
 
With music and lyrics by Robert Lopez/> and Jeff Marx/>, book by Jeff Whitty/>, and directed by Jason Moore/>, Avenue Q won 3 Tony Awards in 2004, including Best Musical.  The musical is produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum/>, Robyn Goodman, Jeffrey Seller/>, Vineyard Theatre and The New Group.
