CBS has ordered Barbara Hall and Morgan Freeman's political drama pilot MADAM SECRETARY to series, it was recently announced - and the cast boats a pair of Broadway-headliners.

Among MADAM SECRETARY's all-star cast are Patina Miller and Bebe Neuwirth, which follows a maverick female Secretary of State (Tea Leoni) as she drives international diplomacy, wrangles office politics and balances a complex family life. Tim Daly co-stars.

Miller won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Diane Paulus' new production of PIPPIN, now playing at the Music Box Theater.

The actress was nominated for the 2011 Tony Award for her lead role in Sister Act. She also garnered Drama Desk, Drama League & OCC Award nominations for her performance. Her other theater credits include Off-Broadway's Ragtime, Lost in the Stars, Hair and Romantic Poetry.

She is currently filming in the role of 'Commander Paylor' for the third and fourth installments in The Hunger Games franchise -- Mockingjay parts 1 and 2 -- due out in 2014 and '15.

Neuwirth's previous TV credits include Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, Bored to Death, Law & Order, Frasier, Hack, Deadline, Cheers and more.

Neuwirth has also starred on Broadway in The Addams Family, Fosse, Chicago and Sweet Charity -- both for which she won Tony Awards -- Damn Yankees, Little Me, Dancin' and A Chorus Line.
