Charles Busch, Jim Dale, Melissa Errico, James Naughton and over a dozen others will pay tribute to Broadway bookwriter and lyricist Michael Stewart on November 20th.

"The Colors of My Life: The Musical Theater of Michael Stewart," which will take place at the New York Library for the Performing Arts' Bruno Walter Auditorium (111 Amsterdam Ave., south of 65th St.), will feature Anna Bergman, Klea Blackhurst, Busch, Dale, Barry Day, Errico, Jessica Grove, Naughton, Francine Pascal, Jon Peterson, Lee Roy Reams, Steve Ross, Evan Stern, and K.T. Sullivan, as well as former Stewart collaborators Charles Strouse and Lee Adams.

The event will take place right before the opening of the Library's exhibit, "The Billy Rose Theatre Division at 75: Treasures from the Archives," featuring theatrical gems.  It will run from November 21st through May 5th.  The Michael Stewart Papers were recently donated to NYPL by his family.

Stewart, who received multiple Tony nominations, wrote the books for Hello, Dolly!, Bye Bye, Birdie and Carnival, as well as the lyrics for Barnum and the book and lyrics of I Love My Wife (the latter two were with the late Cy Coleman).  His other credits include Harrigan 'n Hart, Bring Back Birdie, The Grand Tour, Seesaw and George M!.  He passed away in 1987.

Tickets, one per person, will be given at 4 PM the day of the event. The Auditorium will open at 5:30 PM.  Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Call (212) 642-0142 for more information.
