Sandy Hackett, entertainer and son of late legendary comedian Buddy Hackett, comments on the death of their family friend and "Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" co-star, the iconic Sid Caesar:

"Sid was one of the nicest and funniest guys I ever knew. He was one of the best ever! His Show of Shows was the inspiration and predecessor of so much that followed after him like; Saturday Night Live. At almost 92 he had a helluva run.

I had the pleasure of appearing in the film 'When Comedy Went to School' - a Ron Frank documentary that chronicled the early days of comedy in the Catskills and interviewed Sid Caesar.

Sid Caesar was a pioneer and a gentleman. His kind of funny never gets old. He was truly one of the greats!

I went to high school with his daughter Karen who I haven't seen since high school. His son Rick led my high school to a CIF championship in 1969 the year before I got there.

Our fathers were both comedy legends and friends. I hope my dad is waiting for him in heaven and they are having some laughs together."
