Last summer, BroadwayWorld premiered the stunning Broadway digital art of Norn Cutson. Now, Norn is proud to share his portrait of Ann Magnuson in "Pretty Songs & Ugly Stories," which was presented at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St.) on Friday, May 18th at 9:30 and 11:30 PM.

The show was, according to Joe's Pub notes, "a phantasmagorical evening with the actress, writer, performer and lead singer/lyricist of the cult band Bongwater, featuring music, monologue, video and suprise guests. A vibrant presence on the New York and Los Angeles art and music scenes, Magnuson debuts new songs and spoken word from her new CD 'Pretty Songs & Ugly Stories' with help from her producer and collaborator Kristian Hoffman and New York City's very own Loser's Lounge Band. "

Magnuson was accompanied by Joe McGinty and the Loser's Lounge under the musical direction of producer Kristian Hoffman. The shows also included a special guest appearance by cabaret performer Adam Dugas (formerly of The Citizen's Band) as well as Manic Panic's Snooky and Tish Bellomo on background vocals. The CD also features background vocals from Rufus Wainwright, who joined Magnuson on stage last October at the P.S.1 "Homecoming" Gala to sing the CD's lament to a lost bohemia, "Whatever Happened to New York?."
