BettySoo & Michael Fracasso will perform on Friday, November 11th, at ROCKWOOD Music Hall (185 Orchard St., New York, NY 10002) at 7:00pm. Admission: $12 at 212-477-4155 or www.rockwoodmusichall.com.

BettySoo's shows are every-changing and entertaining - as much for what is said off the cuff between songs as for the songwriting and her breathtaking delivery. There's a little gospel, some straight-ahead folk, a bit of twang, a bit of pop, and maybe even a familiar oldie with a new twist. If you're planning to see her live, be ready for a surprise.

Having garnered her share of great show and album reviews, Betty Soo spent the better part of the five years zigzagging her way across the North American and European continents writing dozens of songs - resulting in her album When We're Gone, an intimate look into private spaces in lives that BettySoo spent years witnessing & capturing. Center stage is BettySoo's voice and her melodies. For the past few years she's been touring behind WWG, writing songs for a new solo album and putting together an album of covers (Working Title China Girl) with Jon Sanchez of David Bowie and David Byrne songs which should be ready early next year.

Busy as that sounds, at any given moment you might find Betty Soo creatively working away on a new piece of jewelry - "My newest thing is chic eyeglass chains. I've done it as a hobby since I was a kid, but it wasn't until a couple years ago that I realized that people wanting to borrow my pieces all the time probably meant I should be selling it." Also, she joined a host of other amazing singer/songwriters (Verlon Thompson, Walt Wilkins, Bill Chambers to name a few) by lending a song to The Polished Steel Sessions album - Unreleased Originals from top Central Texas Songwriters which is out now. And most recently, she's been moonlighting as a Fayette with Charlie Faye & The Fayettes. BettySoo arranged the vocal harmonies and sings on almost all the songs. When schedule permits, you can find her singing and dancing the nifty dance moves as well as playing keyboards at the live shows.

Michael Fracasso is a genre-crossing artist incapable of repeating himself. His critically acclaimed work includes nine distinctive solo CDs, recorded duets with both Patty Griffin and Lucinda Williams, an epic reinterpretation of John Lennon's "Working Class Hero," and memorable tributes to Woody Guthrie,Mickey Newbury and Townes Van Zandt - two created alongside his gifted friend/producer/guitarist Charlie Sexton (Back To Oklahoma and World In A Drop Of Water). In 2011 he was short listed for the Austin Public Library Award for literary achievement. Fracasso's oft-celebrated songwriting has reached new heights on his latest collection, Here Come The Savages. Fracasso has once again asserted himself as a miraculous American songwriter and truly exceptional singer, as well as a gifted interpreter of well-chosen covers. An authentic Texas musician born of Italian parents he spent years working the New York folk scene while mentored by the great Doc Pomus, Michael Fracasso follows a grand aesthetic compass found in a rare few. www.michaelfracasso.com
