Lurch may be known as a mute, but he certainly has lots to say when it comes to writing! This towering mute has been shambling around the house forever. He is not a very good butler, but a faithful one. He is often sent to pick the awful herbs from the garden, for instance, but will often forget the most important ingredient of all, say Eye of Newt. He is shame-faced about his oversight and the object of good-natured ridicule from the family. The children are his favorites and he guards them against good influences at all costs. One eye is opaque, the scanty hair is damply clinging to his narrow flat head. He will gladly undertake to dump boiling oil on the carol singers, but generally the family regards him as something of a joke.

Where do you shop for clothes?

I make my own clothes. I make all the clothes for the entire family with the exception of Grandma, who maintains her own fashion. My mother bought me a sewing machine for Christmas at the age of four so that I may supplement the family income by constructing sails. I soon mastered the 40 basic stitch styles and quickly moved on to conquer button-holes and decorative embroidery. I barter all my fabrics from Ebad on 37th and 8th. Ask for Sol.

If you were to be an actor on broadway what would be your dream roll?

I've often found solitude in the lyrics of "On My Own", Eponine's great ballad from Les Miserables, as it relates to my conflicted inner child and my unfulfilled desire to go back and save that lost and wounded boy.

Have you ever been married, do you have any children, what's their names if so?

I've never been married. I've never been shown romantic affection. My life's devotion does not allow me the time for pursuing a relationship. I do, however, have a fondness for Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Romance Novels.

What's your annual salary?

I serve and care for the ones I love in return for their graciousness in taking me in from a very young age. I spent my first few years with the family hiding under the stairs, in a state of shock from the incident. Once Wednesday was born, and subsequently Pugsley, I began helping full-time. Running a household is a never-ending job. I love my work.

Where do you like to go on summer vacation?

I'm not one for leaving the house for more than running errands. I've found it better to keep to myself and not be too visible, for all too many reasons. Someday I hope to see the Aurora Borealis.

Have you ever gone to a Broadway show, and if so, what's your favorite?

I've never been to a Broadway show but imagine the grandeur overwhelming. Gomez and Morticia oft attend the theatre and we have been known to put on private shows of our own in the parlor. My theatrical taste rests mostly in the great black and white movies of Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. My VHS tapes of Top Hat and Easter Parade are approach being played out. As a child I saw a production of Oklahoma! at the church fair back home. I didn't understand. To kill a man for wanting to be loved...It has haunted me.

Do the Addams' ever give you the day off and if so, what do you spend your time doing on those days?

I've found it better to keep my time focused on work. An idle mind is the devil's Tupperware party.

You have an unusual hairstyle. Who cuts your hair? Do you do it yourself? If so, what size bowl do you use?

I lost much of my hair in the fire. What I have left is maintained by Grandma. It is simple really. A stool, a pocket knife and some tonic.

Starring two-time Tony Award winners Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth as Gomez and Morticia, The Addams Family also features two-time Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann as Mal Beineke, two-time Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello as Alice Beineke, two-time Tony Award nominee Kevin Chamberlin as Uncle Fester, Jackie Hoffman as Grandma, Zachary James as Lurch, Krysta Rodriguez as Wednesday, and Adam Riegler as Pugsley.

The Addams Family features an original story in which the Addams house is turned upside down when they are forced to host a dinner for Wednesday's new love interest and his parents. For tickets to and more information on The Addams Family, visit www.theaddamsfamilymusical.com.
