Artists' Exchange proudly presents its 9th Annual One Act Play Festival this summer, kicking off with Wave 1 today, July 25-August 2 at Theatre 82 in Cranston. Eight exciting new plays will be showcased over two weekends on Friday and Saturday evenings, performed by local theatre professionals, community actors, and Artists' Exchange artists.

There is something for everyone and the entire family in the Wave 1 line-up: light-hearted comedies, dramas, relationship pieces exploring the bonds of spouses/siblings/lovers/co-workers, and even a delightful Mark Harvey Levine play featuring an ensemble cast of "bugs." Poisoned brownies, free hugs, a money-filled satchel, a ninja, and more are guaranteed fun in this fast-paced evening of new works.

Playwrights hail from the West to East Coast, up to Canada, and back to the Midwest. Providence local Kevin Broccoli (Epic Theatre Company) presents his two-person play, The Last Two, directed by Jack Read. Seven different theatre professionals direct the plays, including Tom Chace, Kate Lester, and Jessica Bradley. Artists' Exchange is thrilled to support local and new writers, and proudly presents their works for the affordable entertainment of the Cranston community.

Venue is Theatre 82 & Characters Café, located at 82 Rolfe Square in Cranston, Rhode Island.
