LEARN MORE. APPLY NOW!

Lincoln Center Education (LCE) has launched an alternative certification program for arts teachers. The application deadline is TODAY, August 1st!

The Lincoln Center Scholars Alternative Certification Program is the first initiative of its kind to educate, certify, and fast-track the placement of high-quality music, dance, theater and visual arts teachers in public schools. In partnership with CUNY's Hunter College and the New York City Department of Education, and with the generous support of the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, this summer LCE will offer up to 20 music and dance professionals the opportunity to:

Enroll in a fully-subsidized Master's of Education program at Hunter College;
Be placed in a New York City elementary, middle, or high school;
Receive a $7,500 grant for arts supplies for his/her school; and
Gain exclusive access to intensive training at Lincoln Center, including guest lectures, peer support events, and individualized coaching.

The inaugural 2014-2015 year will welcome 20 candidates in Music Education and Dance Education. Evening courses will commence in the Fall, with school placements in effect by February, 2015 (pending successful completion of state exams). We are committed to expanding this program by Summer 2015 to 40 new candidates and the addition of Theater Education and Visual Arts Education.
