The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza presents singer-songwriter-musician Brooke White at the Scherr Forum Theatre tonight, December 18, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Before she appeared in the seventh season of American Idol, Brooke White cut her teeth as a singer/songwriter in the vein of Carly Simon and Carole King, two icons whose influence helped her earn a fifth place finish in the idol competition. The former nanny's first full length release High Hopes & Heartbreak released after the competition was a critical and commercial success.

After Nationwide tours and tv/radio appearances for High Hopes and Heartbreak, White took some time off from music to film her first movie Change of Plans, which aired last year on FOX. Change of Plans was White's first experience acting and a ratings success. In addition to acting in the film, White managed to write, record and perform three original songs in the movie and on the cd soundtrack. The songs were recorded and produced by Randy Jackson who teamed with the former American Idol finalist to executive produce her debut album.

The oldest of four siblings, her parents passed their love of music on to their children."My parents are hardcore music fans, music was the therapy that made us a very happy family." White now looks to share the music of her parents' generation, with a new generation. Brooke and her husband welcomed their first child, daughter London Ray, in May 2013.

Whites' concert will feature songs from her newly released holiday album, White Christmas as well as tunes from High Hopes & Heartbreak, yuletide classics and her favorite cover songs.

Single tickets are priced at $25-$20 with group discounts available.
