Despite the high drama of the judges finally opting to use their one and only 'save' of the season, FOX's American Idol results show pulled in a meager 7.72 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in the key 18-49. The Half Hour results show finished third in its time slot, losing to ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS's "Two and a Half Men." Idol was the seventh most watched TV show Thursday night in total viewers.

On last night's show, finalist Sam Woolf was saved from elimination after American Idol XIII judges - Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. - unanimously agreed to use the save after it was revealed that he received the lowest number of votes. Woolf will continue in the competition as he takes the stage with the remaining finalists next week.

Now with no more Judges' Saves left, the competition intensifies next week, Wednesday, April 9 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), when the Top Eight- C.J. Harris, Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, Alex Preston, Dexter Roberts, Malaya Watson and Sam Woolf - will take to the stage in hopes of winning America's vote. After weeks of celebrating the best of contemporary music, each finalist will select and sing a classic song from the 1980s.

The next live results show airs Thursday, April 10 (9:00-9:30 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed).
