For the fifth consecutive year, DPAC has placed in the top five theaters in the U.S. as tracked by multiple industry-leading trade magazines. In their year-end published attendance rankings, Pollstar, Billboard and Venues Today all placed DPAC among the top five venues in the U.S. among reporting venues of its size and type. DPAC's 2014 calendar year featured 199 events which drew over 412,000 guests and saw a record 93 sellouts.

"It's always an honor to be mentioned in tandem with some of America's most iconic venues," said Bob Klaus, General Manager at DPAC. "In just six years Nederlander and PFM have established DPAC as one of the top theaters in America, and our thanks go out to the fans who were part of this being one of our most memorable years ever. Our vision is simply to be our guests' favorite place for live entertainment. Everything we do, from booking the biggest Broadway, concerts and comedy shows, to welcoming every guest with our famous red carpet hospitality, is done with the guest in mind."

Heading the list of the highest attended shows were Broadway multi-week sellouts The Book of Mormon and The Phantom of the Opera which drew almost 85,000 guests as part of DPAC's signature series, SunTrust Broadway at DPAC.

In addition to Broadway blockbusters, DPAC again delivered audiences great variety and 'something for everyone'. Concert sellouts featured classic rockers Ringo Starr and Crosby, Stills & Nash, R&B superstars Patti LaBelle and Maxwell, international artists like Celtic Woman and Susan Boyle, plus the world-renowned American Dance Festival. Comedy also played a big role in DPAC's year with Chelsea Handler, Dave Chappelle and John Oliver selling out multi-performance engagements.

"At DPAC we believe in great entertainment experiences,'" stated Rachel Traversari, Senior Director of Marketing at DPAC. "We're passionate about booking the very best shows and there is nothing better than seeing our guests leaving with smiles and what we know will be the memories of a lifetime."

Since its opening in 2008, DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center, has become the center for live entertainment in the Triangle. Recognized for its contemporary design, DPAC features 2,700 seats, intimate sightlines and state-of-the-art sound and video. Listed five times in the top five in Pollstar magazine's annual worldwide theater attendance rankings, DPAC is currently the #4 ranked theater in the U.S.

With a mission of presenting one-of a-kind live entertainment events, DPAC truly has 'something for everyone,' hosting 200 performances a year, including spectacular touring Broadway productions, high-profile concert and comedy events, family shows and the heralded American Dance Festival. Owned by the City of Durham and operated under the direction of Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), DPAC has been listed five consecutive years as the #1 performing arts organization in the region by the Triangle Business Journal.
