The Castillo Theatre will hold its annual fundraising gala entitled, "Creating Friends" on Monday, November 12th at the All Stars Project's performing arts and youth development center at 543 West 42nd Street (between 10th & 11th Avenue) at 6:30 p.m.

The gala celebrates creativity and the art of community building, honoring four longtime Castillo company members: resident costume designer, Emilie Charlotte Knoerzer; actor and director, David Nackman; sales director, Gail Peck; and resident set and video designer, Joseph Spirito. Castillo's 2012 gala will feature a special tribute to the considerable talents and work - both onstage and in directing young performers - of Desmond Richardson.

The Castillo Theatre sees culture as a tool for growth and change, and is one of the programs of the innovative national non-profit All Stars Project, Inc. For nearly three decades the Castillo Theatre has produced experimental, socially-engaged theatre, staging over 100 productions ranging from multicultural and avant-garde plays, to musicals and improvisational shows.
