Set in modern-day South London, Deptford to be exact, American expat Damilola (Dami for short), finds herself in the chair of hard-working hairstylist, Aisha in order to prepare for her upcoming Valentine's date. They start off on the wrong foot, with Dami accidentally witnessing a private moment between Aisha and her "secret beau," however tensions ease once Dami puts on her favourite musician - Dinah Washington. As they both fangirl over their love for jazz, they realise they have more in common than just their music taste.
