Bacchanal: meaning a wild and drunken celebration, is a genre-defying hip-hopera that follows Koalemos, Greek god of stupidity and rap phenom, on a semi-fictitious journey of an epic night out with the: gods, heroes and wrong’ens of Greek mythology.
It’s the first night since the reopening of Bacchus’ nightclub and Koalemos is standing in line, planning to indulge in a tragic night out. Blending the form of a rap concert, and gig-theatre, inspired by the sound of The Streets, Loyle Carner and Lausse The Cat, the original musical score combines live instrumentation and electronic music production with witty working-class storytelling and a penchant for poetry, this fable will leave your jaw spinning and your achilles killing in an electrifying tale of sticky dance floors, hedonistic kebab shops and hellish night buses. So join the crowd and listen to how the fool fell victim to a night-out in town.
