Clown Funeral Collective presents Fires, a new writing night in support of Medical Aid for Palestinians Clown Funeral Collective is a playwriting group formed in 2023, born out of regular meetings over coffee at the Riverside Café. Frustrated by the difficult landscape for new writing, we decided to take matters into our own hands by launching new writing nights to showcase our work. In July 2024, we held our inaugural ‘Summer Nights’ event at The Drayton Arms Theatre. Our upcoming event features five short plays, all written in response to the theme of ‘Fires’. Each piece is directed by another Clown Funeral member, chosen at random, which brings a unique and collaborative energy to the night. The evening will be MC’d by a real clown, naturally. All profits from both nights will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians, in support of their vital humanitarian work.
