Matthew Horne, of 'Gavin and Stacy' fame, fainted mid performance on stage at the Trafalgar Studios Theatre today.
He passed out in front of a full house and on stage co-star Imelda Staunton.
He was taken to hospital in an ambulance and Ms Staunton faced the audience to explain the show would not continue.
The hospital will not, as yet, make a statement.

Mr Horne is currently in hospital recovering from the fainting incident. His publicist has said that the collapse was due to exhaustion.

I'm in London next weekend and was wondering about seeing this, mainly for Imelda and the play, so I will probably still try and get to see it even if he's out.

I must admit I was hoping for better than the indifferent reviews he got for his performance but with the Lesbian Vampire Killers film also getting weak reviews I wonder if he's demoralised as well as exhausted.

I saw this a few weeks ago..Matthew Horne was fine..looked better in the part than in the speaking bit!

Imelda Staunton is the one to see it for.

Ms Staunton is expected to return to the show 2mrw night (Tue) but it is now looking more and more likely that Mr Horne will not complete the shows final 8 performances.
The production closes on Saturday.

Thats changed since the call I got at 8am this morning then.
I found it a bit odd that he was doing interviews over the weekend and would then decide not to continue.
There will be a great buzz at the theatre this week then- it was already sold out!

LP, as I said, it didn't happen, he didn't go back Monday and has yet to appear all week.
They still don't know if he will go on tonight (Thur)?

I saw it Thursday. Imelda on and magnificent, Mathew out, Fergus March on and also terrific.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

He wasn't back for the Saturday matinee either. I suspect he's not the wunderkind he's being built up to be.

And I didn't miss him; I couldn't imagine him doing any better than Fergus, but that brings us to the bump. I went to see this because I've never really enjoyed Joe Orton's work and thought that maybe the productions I had seen missed the target. Now I know that, even with performances as brilliant as Imelda's and a terific supporting cast who obviously understood where the playwright was coming from, I just don't like his work.

I thought, watching this play, it almost prophesies Orton's own death.
