A lot has been made of the demise of Broadway, I am glad I am not cynical, with quotes like 'Broadway shows dropping like flies'.

Well reading this weeks Broadway Grosses it is clear, it has never been so good with no less than 10 shows grossing over a million dollars, which are;

Billy Elliot
In the Heights
Irving....White Christmas
Jersey Boys
Mama Mia
Mary Poppins
Shrek
The Little Mermaid
The Lion King
Wicked

Two shows close to a million dollars.

Phantom of the Opera
South Pacific

I don't know what all the fuss is about, it must be the first time in years that 10 shows have made over a 1m bucks. Broadway has never looked so good?

Well, do remember that last week was Thanksgiving which is one of the busiest weeks of the year. Also, many shows upped their prices for the weekend (Jersey Boys regular priced orchestra seats were $152).
