I understand a mega-production of The King & I will play the RAH next year. Not many details yet.

Whatever happened to that production of 'Into The Woods' that was meant to be at the RAH last November (or whenever it was)?

It all revolved around Madonna I believe. When she pulled out, that was the end of it.

Wait one moment - Mad Donna? Mad Donna? In a musical? On stage? In something intelligent by Sonheim? Lord, what has happened to the world!

I always had her down as a confused muscular old hag with a hernia. Maybe I was wrong?

Into the Woods was going to be a charity performance- in aid of a children's charity I think. I'm not sure if Hugh Wooldridge was involved in producing.

It was to have run at the RAH for 2 or 3 performances about 18 months ago, I think. When there was a scheduling clash, it proved impossible to get back together. Madge was rumoured to be playing the Witch. Personally, I wonder if she chickened out.

There were all sorts of weird casting rumours about this - wasn't Vinne Jones supposed to be in there as either Jack or the Narrator.

Personally I would have loved to see Madonna as the Witch.

That would've been amazing. Even if she was terrible, I bet the rest of the cast would be all-star once people heard that Madonna was the Witch.

Speaking of old musicals, it cannot be long before Gypsy and South Paciffic come over, after there critical acclaim and sackful of Tonys.

We've had a South Pacific relatively recently. Am definitely holding out hope for Gypsy, but won't be counting on it.

'The Rink' at the Albert Hall was pulled also- damn it!
Was to have starred Lupone but i guess she got caught up in the monster that is now 'Gypsy'!
