Not really- but it is a monster of a show.

Back out on tour. I believe Dave Willetts turned it down this time.

Anyone else think it's unwise to tour this again?

Im not sure if thats an honor being at the top of that list!!! The better looking one certainly!
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

Bloody 'ell Viv! What's Steve 'oughton doin' in this?

I'd be interested to know what the West End board's opinion of Steven Houghton is. I thought he was great in Spend, Spend, Spend and Miss Saigon but was then very disappointed with that tour of Annie Get Your Gun a couple of years ago, in which he seemed rather wooden. Was it just the production? Or is my Yorkshire prejudice influencing my high opinion of him?

I certainly hope that list wasn't in age order!

And I'd like to scotch rumours here and now that Wicked and I are sharing leads in the forthcoming "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane"!

PS Steve Houghton- very nice guy. Just wasn't suited to that production of Annie Get Your Gun.

"Love" the "In the spectacular West End production" on the poster on the UK production website...
Did I miss something (didn't see it in London only in Bromley because a friend was in it when it toured in 05/06)?

re: Seven Brides of Frankenstein

I think I give it a miss this time....

Yeah he was in Desperately Seeking Susan.
Remember it being on at the TRH, couldn't be bothered in seeing it since my friend decided to leave the show after the UK tour - delighted about that!
Though it must have been a different show at the TRH since I could not see anything spectacular about it when seeing it in Bromley!

Why is this show so popular in Britain? It has been playing on and off since the 80's. It has never had a professional staging here in Australia, I doubt there would be much interest. So why is it popular there?

Because of the movie with Howard Keel and Jane Powell maybe?

Don't know how popular it was/is in the UK but I remember when I saw the show in Bromley that most of the people in the audience were older people late 50s/60+ who I assume knew the movie and who wanted to see it onstage.

"He looks so ugly in that poster"

He does, doesn't he! The new photies on his website don't make him look much better either. He used to be so gorgeous - I used to think he was the perfect specimen of a Yorkshireman.

"if i saw that picture without a name i would never say that was him!"

I agree. He looks too thin - I hope he hasn't been ill.

This thread is beginning to sound really awful. I think he's a great performer and I hope he's in a better show looking like his usual hunky gorgeous self really soon.
