I'm going to London in late March.

What should I see?

I love "Evita," but I heard that it was only "alright."

Musical recommendations are better, but plays work as well.

Wicked_Fiyero, The Producers is closing in January, I believe.

DJB, you absolutely MUST see Billy Elliot and Wicked, if at all possible. I would also recommend Mary Poppins, Avenue Q, and - though I have yet to see the London cast - Spamalot.

I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky

Yeah, this production of Evita is pretty bland.

Don't see Wicked, unless you really love it. What a waste to come to England from the USA and see Wicked...

Patrick Stewart will be doing The Tempest then. Definitely worth seeing.
Cabaret, if you're interested in seeing a radical new interpretation of the piece.
Porgy and Bess
Avenue Q - the London cast is superb
You should definitely see at least one play at the National Theatre if you want to experience true great London theatre - I think The Reporter and Attempts on Her Life will be on at that time.

Also, Punchdrunk's FAUST is a theatrical experience unlike any other. Definitely try and get to that. http://nationaltheatre.org.uk/?lid=19369

Can't agree more Claire!

Go and see WICKED with the mesmerizing Kerry Ellis.

You have to see AVENUE Q with a cast that's so amazing and talented.

I really like EVITA a alot. Elena Roger is a great leading lady and her dancing in "Buenos Aires" is worth the money alone. Philip Quast as Person is superb!

And of course you can't come to London without seeing BILLY ELLIOT. A lot of peopel and critics are saying it's a must see... and, well it is!!!

Enjoy your visit- it's such a great city!
