I saw this a few weeks back and was not the slightest bit impressed. Does anyone really think this will win in the Evening Standard awards?

I watched their US TV appearance with mild interest this weekend. Is the score overall better or worse than the topic matter?

The score is nothing I'd consider to be remarkable. Its main attraction is solely shock value.

I find it pretty repulsive that crap like this is produced. What ever happened to creating ART and not going for the almighty american dollar?

Why do you think it's genius? I haven't gotten the chance to see it yet myself.

It was hands down the funniest show I've ever seen, that's why. I went knowing absolutely nothing about it in the early previews and left feeling like I'd witnessed a phenomenen in the making.. which it kind of turned out to be.

BritWit saying "I find it pretty repulsive that crap like this is produced" obviously hasn't seen the production or heard any of its talented cast members sing. Those who slam it are usually those who haven't seen it.

An avant garde colleague of mine who just returned from London on Saturday went to see it. His response: creative in spots, lyrically offensive, too campy in parts, can't imagine it being done in the State. A flaming cross just wouldn't be accepted. [Editor's comment: Remember we're the land of the Puritans!]

So, let's see what happens next!

Cheers, Broadway Bulldog.
