I live in between Southampton,Wimbeldon Richnmond and Woking and was just wondering which panto I should go and see at Christmas time? At he Southampton Mayflower Theatre you have Aladdin with Paul O'Grady. At The New Wimbeldon Theatre you have Peter Pan with David Hasselhoff and Louie Spence. At the new Victoria Theatre Woking you have Snow White with Claire Sweeney Gareth Gates and Minty from Eastenders and at the Richmond Theatre you have Sleeping Beauty with Anita Dobson and Tim Vine.

I'd go for Aladdin with Paul O'Grady, just because I love me some Paul O'Grady and if I lived closer I'd be going!

Woking is also a strong cast-both leads should be good, I think Gareth was very good previously.

Personally I'd do anything to avoid seeing 'the hoff' do anything so would give that one a wide berth (like the width of the country!)
Maybe I'm on nobody's side http://phdconfessions.blogspot.com/

Jack and the Beanstalk is the only one I'll be seeing. I generally hate panto, there are very few people that could make me sit through one. Two of them are in this!! You never know, I might even end up enjoying it!!

Southampton is at the top of most panto lovers lists this year,.. It will be a certain one off production that wont be done again year after year.

Hackney, Hackney, Hackney, Hackney, Hackney.

Seriously. I've already booked my tickets to go twice. Best panto in London year in, year out.

I guess once you start having to do panto's and reality T.V. it is fair to say your career is pretty much shagged.

That will explain why John Barrowman is so keen to do it each year!! Which Panto should I go and see this Christmas?

Seriously, I don't think that doing panto has the same stigma it used to. Some excellent theatre performers do it, and if you have any kind of profile and can hold a tune, you can earn a weekly wage of the kind that most in the West End can only dream of.

Paul O'Grady isn't doing panto this year, Lilly Savage is taking his place (I'll be there in Jan and seeing Joan Collins in Brum a week after).

Graig Revel-Horwood is playing the wicked Queen in Snow White in Crawley (I'm seriously tempted).
