Iconic songwriter/singer, Ellie Greenwich has passed away in a New York hospital from a heart attack.

It had a one night concert version at the Duke Of York's in about 1992 presented by Fairbank Productions and staged by Gerald Armin..
From this production was born a very cheap looking national tour that played 24 weeks split into 2 tours over 18 months.

At the time there were production companies trying to bring the Broadway production of the show and the other 60s Broadway show, 'Beehive', to London- no large production of either show ever opened in the UK.
re: Leader Of The Pack And Now She's Gone

I've only recently heard a copy of 'Beehive' and 'Leader Of The Pack' is by far the more superior show.

'BeeHive' is one of the biggest money making shows to ever play Japan, its up there with 'Phantom' etc. I know its had at least 3 productions.

'Beehive' ran for 18 months at the Village Gate Theatre, Off-Broadway in 1985.
'Leader Of The Pack' only managed 3 months at the Ambassador Theatre on Broadway also in 1985.
