Why would a play need over a month of previews?

And richard blackwood???? Think I'll not get hot on a tin roof.

Interesting that Angela landsbury wants to do her last play in London at the Haymarket, with blithe Spirit.

In new york this dear icon is linked with about everything, to A Little Night Music, as the sharp tongued grandmother to Sister Act as Mother Superior!

She would be more than welcome.
One thing is certain, the English cast, if it opens, will knock spots of the dreadful support she had in Hew York. Shockingly amateur, Mr Everett not included of course.

Its an average production that came alive the minute the door bell rang and Ms Lansbury appeared.
Its done here too often and would 100% need her in it to sell it.

I will LOVE to see Angela Lansbury in a show in London! But wasn't Blithe Spirit done in one of theatres on the Strand in like... 2003 or even more recent? But if Angela reprise her role and if Rupert Everett as well, it'll certainly sell well.

Yep, Penelope Keith followed by Stephanie Cole.

Also had Sally ann Triplett in it to I think.

But Angelas name would sell it. remember, she hasnt done anything in London like the amount she has done stateside

Its 21 years since she did her last London stage appearance and that was just one number in a concert. She did Bossum Buddies with Bea Arthur at the Shaftesbury Theatre. Not many people in the audience kne wthese two were gonna perform together and the place went nuts!

Blithe Spirit with Angela Lansbury and possibly Rupert Everett would sell and I wouldn't be surprised if it happens that it's the next production after Breakfast at Tiffany's or more likely Three Sisters.

The Theatre Royal Haymarket is having a much better year compared to last year when Jonathan Kent's opening season of the TRH Company all but flopped and the shows that opened after it didn't fare much better.

Well the Haymarket now seems to be making a name for itself as the venue for big names on the West End stage.

Id love to see Blithe Spirit again over here with Angela Lansbury, to be honest I think we would do it better!! But NO Rupert 'I can only do one role yet think im awazing' Everatt

It always has had that edge for top names, Christopher Reeve, Lauren Bacal, Jack Lemmon, Peter O'Toole, Omar Sharif, Faye Dunaway, Peter Ustinov are all a few names Ive seen in some terrific productions at the TRH. In recent years it seem to have not had so many so lets hope Ms Lansbury makes it!

Oh Baz, thou has missed off the most exciting bit of news regarding Cat on a Hot Tin Roof - the return of Peter De Jersey to the West End stage!

No? Just me? Ha, care-face. De Jersey is AWESOME. <3 <3 <3
