WAITING FOR GODOT Extends Through 8/9 At Theatre Royal Haymarket

Sean Mathias' Theatre Royal Haymarket production of Waiting for Godot, starring Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Simon Callow and Ronald Pickup, today announces a further 2 weeks, making the final performance Sunday 9 August 2009. Mathias' production of Waiting for Godot previewed at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 30 April following a nation wide tour and has since been playing to sell-out houses in the West End.

Designs are by Stephen Brimson Lewis with lighting by Paul Pyant and sound by Paul Groothuis. Waiting for Godot is produced by the Theatre Royal Haymarket Company in partnership with Duncan C. Weldon Productions Ltd.

Waiting for Godot follows two consecutive days in the lives of Vladimir (Patrick Stewart) and Estragon (Ian McKellen), who divert themselves by clowning around, joking and arguing, while waiting expectantly and unsuccessfully for the mysterious Godot.

Waiting for Godot is Mathias's first production as Artistic Director of the 2009/10 Theatre Royal Haymarket Company. For his second production he will direct Anna Friel as Holly Golightly and Joseph Cross as William ‘Fred' Parsons in Samuel Adamson's new stage adaptation of Truman Capote's classic novella Breakfast at Tiffany's. Breakfast at Tiffany's runs from 9 September 2009 - 9 January 2010, with press night on 29 September.

Waiting for Godot Day Seats

The Theatre Royal Haymarket offers a number of top price tickets at £10 for each performance of Waiting for Godot. Day Seats go on sale on the day of each performance at 10am and need to be purchased from the Theatre Royal Haymarket Box Office in person.
