The Bodyguard has been announced as one of the 16 West End productions eligible to receive the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award at this year's Olivier Awards 2014 ceremony on 13 April. The Audience Award is the only Olivier Award decided entirely by members of the public. Voting, which is now open, is at www.olivierawards.com/vote On 4 March four shortlisted productions will be announced. The winning show will then be announced, along with the rest of the winners, on the night of the ceremony at the Royal Opera House.

Currently starring Beverley Knight as Rachel Marron and Tristan Gemmill as Frank Farmer, The Bodyguard has recently announced the release of over 300,000 tickets for sale, taking booking at the Adelphi Theatre to 30 August 2014. Knight joined the show in September last year and has subsequently played to packed houses and standing ovations. To date almost half a million people have seen The Bodyguard at the Adelphi Theatre where in November last year the show celebrated its first birthday.

Thea Sharrock's hit West End production has book by Alex Dinelaris, designs are by Tim Hatley, lighting by Mark Henderson, sound by Richard Brooker and video designs by Duncan McLean. Choreography is by Arthur Pita, orchestrations by Chris Egan with musical supervision by Mike Dixon. The Bodyguard is produced by Michael Harrison and David Ian.

Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don't expect is to fall in love. A romantic thriller, The Bodyguard features a whole host of irresistible classics including Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, I'm Your Baby Tonight, Run to You, I Have Nothing, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and one of the greatest hit songs of all time - I Will Always Love You.
