English Touring Theatre today announces the appointment of Sophie Watson as Executive Producer. She starts the role at the end of July after she finishes in her current position as Producer at the Bush Theatre. She joins ETT Artistic Director Richard Twyman following his appointment in 2016 and replaces Jane Claire who will continue to be involved in ETT FORGE, working with new and emerging companies, artists and producers.

Sophie Watson said today, "I am enormously excited to be joining ETT and working alongside Richard to lead the company into a new chapter. ETT is a hugely ambitious theatre company that can use its distinctive voice to redefine English theatre and bring the highest quality work to the most diverse audiences all over the country. I can't wait to get started as we seek to build on existing relationships, develop new partnerships with world-class artists and answer important questions about an increasingly complex and politicised England."

Richard Twyman said, "We're extremely lucky to have Sophie join the team at ETT - she is an immensely talented producer and the perfect person to help drive the company forward in the coming years. Her experience in new writing and regional theatre will be of real value as we shape the future of the company together."

Chair of the Board Robert Delamere said, "We're delighted to appoint Sophie Watson as the new ETT Executive Producer. She brings a wealth of producing experience, venue knowledge and dramaturgical insight to the post. Alongside the recently appointed Richard Twyman, we now have a hugely talented and dynamic partnership at the head of the company."

Sophie Watson is currently Producer at the Bush Theatre where she has led the producing and production teams for the Bush's Theatre and Studio programmes including in-house, co-productions, visiting and touring shows. Prior to the Bush, she worked as Producing and Programming Manager at Watford Palace Theatre where, in addition to producing the theatre's multi-arts programme, she worked on co-productions with companies including Headlong, Paines Plough and Rifco Arts. In a freelance capacity, she has produced shows at the Arcola, Live Theatre , Northern Stage, Latitude Festival and Theatre503.
