Following on from recent successes, End of the Rainbow and the Young America season - now on at the National - Royal & Derngate presents Graham Greene's Travels With My Aunt as its next Made in Northampton production. This rollercoaster of a comedy will be on the Royal stage from Friday 30 April to Saturday 15 May.

Recently retired city gent Henry Pulling loved nothing more than tending his beautiful English garden. That was before he met his long-lost, flamboyant, septuagenarian Aunt Augusta. In need of a travelling companion, she suggests a trip and, before he can plant another Dahlia, they set off on a thrilling, globe-trotting adventure.

Lured slightly unwittingly into the exciting world of the eccentric aunt, Henry's old life of banking and botany is turned upside down as he embarks on a new non-stop journey of crime, intrigue and espionage!

At lightning pace, four male actors play all twenty five characters in this hilarious new staging of Graham Greene's light-hearted 1969 novel. The four actors are: Peter Forbes, who recently appeared in the Observer at the National, Miltos Yerolemou, who starred as Feste in RSC's Twelfth Night in December last year, James Duke fresh from Lady in the Van at the Salisbury Playhouse and Stuart Angell whose credits include puppeteer in Anthony Minghella's Madam Butterfly (ENO). Graham Greene is the world famous novelist, playwright and critic, whose other well known titles include Brighton Rock, the End of the Affair and The Ministry of Fear which is currently touring the South-East.

Travels With My Aunt was adapted for the stage by Scottish dramatist Giles Havergal, and was first staged at the Citizens' Theatre, Glasgow, in 1989 and has since been performed in London's West End and off-Broadway in New York and in San Francisco. For Royal & Derngate, Travels With My Aunt is directed by Gary Sefton, who has worked as both actor and director - recently as director of movement for the RSC's Beauty and the Beast, for which he also played the role of Beast, and he was cast in Deborah Warner's Mother Courage at the National.

Travels With My Aunt opens at Royal & Derngate from Friday 30 April to Saturday 15 May, with evening performances at 7.45pm, and matinees on Thursdays and Saturdays at 2.30pm (excluding 1 May). Tickets are priced from £27 to £11 and can be booked by calling the Box Office on 01604 624811 or online at www.royalandderngate.co.uk
