Now the excitement of Sunday's Olivier awards has died down a little, it's time to look at and assess the truth in some of the rumours and stories that have been flying around ever since...

Rumour #1 - The Strallen sisters to appear in a revised version of Little Women

Our verdict - Unlikely. But would be fantastic. Particularly if Bonnie Langford got cast as Marmee. We're talking to Summer Strallen, currently starring as Meg Giry in Love Never Dies, next week, so we'll ask her then...

Rumour #2 - Spring Awakening to return to the West End or go on tour

Our verdict - No way. A tour was never on the cards, and it's much too soon for it to come back. If Spring Awakening were to come back to Theatreland, it would need a revised marketing campaign...and to coincide with sixth-formers' summer holidays.

Rumour #3 - Duncan James to leave Legally Blonde

Our verdict - Yes, he told our very own Miriam Zendle that he'll be leaving the hallowEd Halls of Harvard when his contract expires in June.

Rumour #4 - Melanie C to pursue a career in musical theatre

Our verdict - Yes, kind of. She revealed to us that she's going back into the studio to record an album first, but then she'll return to the boards.

Rumour #5 - The Mountaintop to get a Broadway transfer

Our verdict - A definitely-maybe - but this isn't really news, because David Harewood told us that last July. When UK editor-in-chief Carrie Dunn spoke to writer Katori Hall last summer, she confirmed there would be a US premiere some time in the near future, but she wasn't sure that Broadway would be ready to see Martin Luther King portrayed in that way...and so far noting seems to have changed.
