The Old Opera House Dance Studio Presents The Nutcracker 12/16-19

The Old Opera House Dance Studio will present The Nutcracker ballet on December 16 & 17 at 7:30pm and December 18 & 19 at 2:30pm. Directed and Choreographed by Amanda Cipriano, this delightful holiday treat features over 70 young dancers.
The Nutcracker ballet is based on a story written by E.T.A. Hoffman. It is Christmas Eve at the Stahlbaum house and their young daughter, Clara, has just received the most special gift, a beautiful nutcracker. When Clara falls asleep she has an enchanted dream where her beloved nutcracker takes her on a magical journey. Together Clara and the nutcracker travel to the Land of Sweets, Land of Snow, encounter the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy and must go to battle with some very nasty mice. When this fantasy is all underscored with the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky you have a classic Christmas event that has been delighting audiences since 1892. The OOHDS is an intimate dance studio with experienced, dedicated instructors who have a strong desire to develop each dancer to their full potential. Classes are offered in ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop; for students from age 3 to 18. Classes are small and the dancers develop a respect for themselves, their fellow dancers and the art of dance.Every other year the OOHDS presents The Nutcracker ballet as part of the Old Opera House's Christmas Season.
