Written by composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1889 after his success with Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty has gone on to become one of the most often performed ballets in the world. Tchaikovsky based his ballet on The Brothers Grimm version of Charles Perrault's Le Belle au bois dormant, French for "The Beauty in the Sleeping Wood." The show's success led Tchaikovsky to write The Nutcracker.

The State Ballet Theatre of Russia, based out of the city of Ufa, was founded by a former Prima Ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre Ballet named Maya Plisetskaya. The show will feature sixty professional dancers performing authentic Russian choreography by Vladimir Vasiliev, a former Principal Dancer with the Bolshoi Theater Ballet who has been named "The Best Male Dancer of the 20th Century." In addition to the breathtaking choreography, you can expect to see highly detailed sets and extravagant costumes. The show is Directed by the award-winning dancer Nikolay Anokhin of the Moiseyev Dance Company.
