AUDITION NOTICE: OF DEVILS AND MEN at THE CAPITOL THEATER. Auditions In July, Show In October!

West Virginia based play wright and director Lawrence Burgess is back with a new court room drama mixed with a hint of the supernatural in Of Devils and Men. He recently announced audition dates and requirements.


Show: Of Devils and Men

Audition Dates: Saturday, July 21st, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Location: South Charleston City Hall

Additional Audition Info: Private auditions can be set up via Messenger for Saturday, July 14, 2018 and Sunday, July 15th, 2018. There are 8 private audition slots available.

AUDITION NOTICE: OF DEVILS AND MEN at THE CAPITOL THEATER. Auditions In July, Show In October! Show Rehearsal Info: Rehearsals will take place at the South Charleston City Hall on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday and Sundays from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Technical Rehearsals: Technical rehearsals will take place Sunday, October 14th through October 18th, 2018 at The Capitol Theater @ Resurrection Church, located at 123 Summers Street in Charleston, WV 25301.

Performance Location: The Capitol Theater at Resurrection Church. 123 Summers Street, Charleston, WV 25301.

Performance Dates: Friday, October 19th, 2018 at 8:00 PM. Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Sunday, October 21st, 2018 at 3:00 PM. Friday, October 26th, 2018 at 8:00 PM. Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Sunday, October 28th, 2018 at 3:00 PM. Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 at 7:00 PM.

Show Setting: West Virginia in 2021, where the death penalty has just been passed into law.

Roles Available:

Note from the director: "Diverse backgrounds and abilities encouraged and welcomed. Outstanding candidates out of the age range will be accepted."

Frank - African-America Male - Age 35+ - Ex-Marine with rough exterior, but longs for social justice.

Ilene - Latin or African American-Female - Age 35+ = Quiet. A kind grocery store cashier. Family oriented.

Benji - Caucasian or African-American Male - Age 40 through 60 - Executive Director at a government position. Womanizer.

Kat - Latina - Age 20 through 40 - A self-published fantasy author. Ambitious. Compulsive.

Ethan - Caucasian or African-American Male - Age 30 through 60 - An eleven-year truck driver with tireless work ethic. Weak in spirit.

Cam - Latin or Italian-American Male - Age 24 through 35 - On the cusp of obtaining a doctorate in sociology. A know-it-all.

Milton - Caucasian Male - Age 40 through 65 - A coal miner and father. A no-nonsense sports fan. Judgmental.

Tara 0 Female - Age 30 through 45 - A former model and parent of five children. Well-liked.

Bailiff - No Preference for age/ethnicity - A jury bailiff charged with the maintenance and oversight of the jury while in deliberation.
