Folger Consort presents The Love Birds: Chaucer's A Parlement of Foules, a celebration of love and music just in time for Valentine's Day. This program features a world-premiere composition by Juri Seo, inspired by Geoffrey Chaucer's 14th-century poem, along with readings by acclaimed actor Holly Twyford. The performances blend medieval music with new arrangements, showcasing themes of love and nature, as over 35 bird species convene to discuss matters of the heart. Guest artists include Kristen Dubenion-Smith, Crossley Hawn, and Mary Springfels, creating a rich tapestry of sound and storytelling.
