Tasty Monster Productions to Present LOVE, SEX, ANARCHY
Heather Bagnall, (SINGLEMARRIEDGIRL, 59E59, Edinburgh Fringe) has been cast in the role of Emma Goldman in Tasty Monster Production's reading of LOVE, SEX, ANARCHY, a new play by Melissa Bell, based on the life and love of the infamous Anarchist.
Luke Tudball (FERDINAND, A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE/Talking Horse Productions, regional) will direct.
LOVE, SEX, ANARCHY is based on the life of Emma Goldman, the infamous Anarchist, and spans several decades of her life and loves: Escaping a brutal childhood and the monotony of factory work in Russia, Emma Goldman arrives in New York City, ripe for the Anarchist philosophy. A fiery speaker, proponent of woman's reproductive rights and practitioner of Free Love, she becomes caught up in a passionate affair with Ben Reitman, a womanizer and self-diagnosed sex addict. Can Emma reconcile her idealistic beliefs with her all too human emotions?
Heather Bagnall was last seen in the Ego Actus' showcase "Love in an Irish Pub" in MRS. JANSEN ISN'T HERE NOW, and SINGLEMARRIEDGIRL at 59E59 and the EdFringe.
Melissa Bell is the librettist of the upcoming Off-Broadway musical DEVIL & THE DEEP, Reimagining Treasure Island, (music by Graham Russell of Air Supply and Katie McGhie) and LOST IN LOVE presented at the Triad Theatre.
The reading will be presented at CORNER STORE ARTS CENTER on Saturday Mar 14, at 7pm and Sunday March 15, at 2pm. Admission is free and open to the public. There will be an opportunity to meet the playwright, take part in a Q&A, and enjoy refreshments afterwards.
