Proving the comeback was worth the wait, Molotov Theatre Group's "Extremities" turned up five times on the "Best of 2013" theatre list from DCMetroTheaterArts.com, after an 18 month hiatus for the horror- and suspense-themed company.

Compiled by the staff of DCMetroTheaterArts.com, the "Best of 2013" list recognized "Extremities" among "Best Plays" for the year. Michael Wright was listed among "Best Directors in a Play," and Jennifer Osborn and Alexia Poe were recognized for their performances on the "Best Supporting Actress in a Play" list. The "Extremities" cast, which featured Sherry Berg and Molotov Co-Artistic Director Alex Zavistovich, was also included on the "Best Ensemble" list.

"Molotov is committed to an artistic vision that provides an unflinching look at the dark side of humanity," said "Extremities" director Michael Wright, who is also Co-Artistic Director of Molotov Theatre Group. "I'm extremely proud of what our cast and crew accomplished with our first show this season."

"After many months of planning and building a new foundation that establishes Molotov as a legitimate theater company in DC," Wright added, "this validates we are on the right track."

Coming up in March, Molotov will present the second show of its 2013/2014 season, "Normal," by British playwright Anthony Neilson. Jay D. Brock will direct the show. "Normal" runs March 6-March 30 at the DC Arts Center in Adams Morgan.

Starring Brian McDermott, Elizabeth Darby and Alex Zavistovich, "Normal" is the story of Peter Kurten, the Dusseldorf Ripper, whose bloody rampage in 1920s and 1930s Germany was the inspiration for the Fritz Lang film "M."

The creative team for "Normal" includes sound design by Gregg Martin, with lighting design by Pete Vargo.
